Jorginho Wijnaldum joins Arsenal as the Liverpool legend sends a clear message to the midfielder

Arsenal have been raised in their efforts to sack Jorginho Wijnaldum from Paris Saint-Germain amid reports that the Dutch midfielder is a huge fan of the club under Mikel Arteta.

Wijnaldum had a tough time in the French capital after his free move last summer. He made just 10 Ligue 1 appearances, failing to convince Mauricio Pochettino that he should be a regular starter. Although he started the last three matches in different positions from the left wing to the right wing, in addition to his favorite role in the midfield.

and Arsenal – Despite apparently getting close to the Juventus star – They are also said to be considering a move for Wijnaldum.

It is said that they want to offer the Dutch midfielder on a six-month loan at the Emirates Stadium in case Wijnaldum is paid to leave.

Now those hopes have been given a major boost after Sky Sports claimed Arsenal were “one of his favorite clubs”.

“I was told that Arsenal is one of his favorite clubs,” said reporter Kafe Solheckul. “One of those close to me said that when he grew up he was an Arsenal fan. So I think he would be more than happy to play for Arsenal one day.

“I wouldn’t say it would happen this month. I wouldn’t say it would happen in the summer.

“But they are certainly, I am told, a club close to his heart.”

Could see Rush Wijnaldum at Arsenal

Furthermore, former Liverpool striker Ian Rush believes that a move to Arsenal would benefit Wijnaldum.

“I noticed Jenny Wijnaldum being linked with a move to Arsenal this week. Rush said via football london.

“He is an experienced midfielder and has become a really valuable player in him [Jurgen] Liverpool team led by Klopp. I was hoping he would stay at the club after last summer.

“In hindsight, it looks like it would have been better to stay at Liverpool. But he chose to accept PSG’s offer. As we often see, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

“He doesn’t play regularly in Paris, but he will definitely get more time at Arsenal. They can use a little experience to complete what is already a good but young side.”

Arsenal, not Newcastle – Rush

We broke the news in November that Newcastle are also keen on Wijnaldum.

However, Rush believes Arsenal are much better for the 31-year-old.

“They could face some competition from old Jenny club Newcastle though, who have new fortune, and a lot of football decisions come from money these days.

“If he ends up going back to Newcastle, you have to assume he only goes there for financial reasons because it looks like they will play the football championship next season.

“Arsenal would be a much better move for him in my opinion, even if it was at lower wages.

“They are already vying for the top four and still looking for the trophy. But if Jenny had both options, it would be either a football decision or a financial decision.”
