Manchester City have reportedly turned their attention to Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, after suffering a setback in his pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
Vinicius is enjoying an amazing campaign with Carlo Ancelotti’s team, where he contributed 15 goals and made 10 assists in 28 games in all competitions.
Karim Benzema is the only Los Blancos player to have scored more goals than the 21-year-old Brazilian.
However, Vinicius’ impressive form and impressive improvement have caught Pep Guardiola’s attention.
Reports from El Nacional have stated that the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona coach has identified him as a possible replacement for the killer Haaland.

Spain-based AS understands that the 21-year-old would prefer a move to the Bernabeu rather than the Etihad Stadium.
The powerful Norwegian has scored 21 goals and made 10 assists in just 19 matches in all competitions for Marco Rose’s side.
He could have collected more goals, had his campaign not affected due to thigh and muscular injuries which saw him miss six matches in the Bundesliga.
Haaland’s scoring record and his ability to create chances for his teammates made him one of the most exciting characteristics on the planet.
While Dortmund have not given up hope of persuading the 21-year-old to stay at Signal Iduna Park, it appears that Haaland’s future after this campaign will be elsewhere.
At the end of the season, the striker will be available at the deal price of £68m, due to a penalty clause introduced by his agent Mino Raiola.
AS also believe Guardiola has instructed his club chiefs to arrest them to sign him, but they face a lot of competition.
Manchester United, Barcelona, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also expected to compete for his fraudulent signature.
However, the news that Haaland wanted to play at the newly renovated Bernabeu stadium would have been a huge blow to City.
Guardiola still has to bring in a striker to replace Sergio Aguero, who left the club to join Barcelona, before retiring early in December.
City desperately tried to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, but the intransigence and stubbornness of Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy proved to be a very big obstacle.
After Ferran Torres also lost to Xavi’s side, Guardiola’s position as a striker worsened.
However, Guardiola’s apparent interest in and interest in Vinicius suggests he has learned the lessons of the summer transfer window, with City looking devoid of alternative options.
Despite being a winger by nature, Vinicius does score scoring stats for some of the best strikers in the game.
Furthermore, the Brazil international, who has made nine appearances for his country, is likely to be considered as a replacement for Raheem Sterling.
Reports from Spanish news outlet Sport claimed that the England player had informed Manchester City of his desire to leave the club.
Barcelona have often been linked with a move for the former Liverpool striker, but such a transfer would not be likely following the departure of Torres.
