At least one portrait of Vladimir Putin has already arrived in Solote. In the courtyard in front of their command post, the soldiers of the 24th mechanized brigade of the northern group of the Ukrainian army mounted a portrait of the Russian president on a straw mannequin. Every now and then they shoot a few bullets at him – and hope that the real Putin and his soldiers never come to the former mining town on Ukraine’s eastern front.
